Super smooth black lager + local Carpe Diem French Roast coffee = the perfect breakfast beer!
This beer was such a hit that we made it again – releasing on Wednesday, July 29th, but this time using beans from the amazing, women-owned Prime Roast Coffee in Keene, NH!

In our families, on Christmas Day, anything goes… Pajamas all day? Encouraged! Meat Pie with an egg for breakfast? A no brainer! Morning beer during gift giving? Always! 🙂 So when we were dreaming up the beers we wanted to enjoy during the holidays, we knew we needed to craft a breakfast beer – something that had that breakfast kind of feel, while also being low enough in alcohol that enjoying one wouldn’t result in an instant nap!
Introducing Breakfast with Oma – our beloved Oma’s Tribute Schwarzbier / black lager conditioned over Carpe Diem French Roast coffee beans. The result is a very easy drinking, light bodied beer with an inviting “freshly brewed” coffee aroma and flavors of robust coffee underscored by hints of dark chocolate and nutty caramel. At the risk of sounding like we are bragging, we think we nailed our ideal Christmas morning beer!
Here are a few additional tasting notes:
Appearance – brownish black in color with some red undertone and a thin, caramel-colored head
Aroma – iced dark roast coffee, dark chocolate
Flavor – fresh brewed coffee, dark chocolate, mild nuttiness, with a slight caramel backbone
Mouthfeel – as this beer is a lager, it’s very light bodied and VERY drinkable
Breakfast with Oma will be on tap starting on Black Friday (November 29th at 2pm). A (very) limited number of cans will also be available to go!
