15 Years of Community, Craft, and Connection

It’s hard to believe we’re turning 15 this coming July! 

We couldn’t have made it this far without all of you – your support, your enthusiasm, and your love for what we do has made this leap of faith worth it. Over the past 15 years, Throwback has grown from a small dream into a vibrant community that continues to surprise and inspire us every day.

And, because one day is never enough, we’ve planned a full week of celebrations to mark the occasion. Come for one event or come for all of them – we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

Tuesday, June 30th – Drink Beer, Give Back
Deadproof Pizza Food Truck and Community Pint Night (4-7pm)

You drink, you vote, we donate. Come raise a glass and help us give back, one beer at a time.

We started this tradition last year, and it was such a hit that we’re bringing it back for our 15th birthday week. Join us for Community Pint Night, where $1 from every pint purchased will be donated to local nonprofits, and you get to help decide where the money goes.

Once you buy a beer, we will give you a token to cast your vote for one of these incredible organizations doing vital work in our community:

• Gather  – Providing nutritious food and prepared meals to those experiencing hunger across the Seacoast of NH and Maine.
• NHSPCA – Giving animals a safe place to go when they have nowhere else.
• Haven – Offering violence prevention education, support services, and outreach across southeastern New Hampshire.
• Lovering Health Center – advocating for everyone’s right to make informed, personal decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.

We’re also thrilled to welcome the wildly popular Deadproof Pizza to the farm for the evening. If you’ve been wanting to try them, this is your chance!

Wednesday, July 1 – Birthday Beer Release, New Merch, And Cribbage!

Join us as we release all four of our brand new anniversary beers, debut limited-edition retro-inspired merch, and host one of our favorite monthly traditions – cribbage night! Sign up by 4pm Wednesday, games start at 6pm sharp! 

This year’s anniversary beers are inspired by some of our favorite memories from the past 15 years, from our early warehouse days to sunsets on the farm and the occasional rogue donkey escape. As always, the lineup spans everything from bright and fruity to hoppy, strong, and delightfully boozy:

• Bobble & Weave – Barrel-Aged Belgian Strong Blonde Ale – 10% ABV – aged in a barrel from North Conway’s Cathedral Ledge Distillery, this brilliant deep-gold ale layers smoothoak and bourbon warmth with delicate botanical aromatics and a deceptively smooth finish. “Bobble” is a nod to our beloved bobblehead era, while “Weave” refers to what this stealthy 10% ABV beer might have you doing after a pint or two.
• Astro Turf Party – Passionfruit New Zealand Pale – 5.7% ABV – our very first home had astro turf. It wasn’t fancy, but it had personality – much like this beer. Bursting with notes of passionfruit, white grape, grapefruit, and a touch of dankness from Nelson Sauvin hops, this pale ale is brewed with local malts from Valley Malt for a crisp, flavorful backbone. Fifteen years later, we’re still throwing the party!
• Sunsets on the Farm – Calamansi Mango Wheat Ale – 5.6% ABV – Golden, hazy, and glowing with juicy mango aroma, this silky wheat ale balances ripe tropical fruit with bright pops of tart calamansi citrus. Inspired by the unforgettable sunsets we’re lucky enough to witness at Hobbs Farm, this beer is our love letter to summer evenings spent together in the beer garden.
• Donkeys on the Loose – Dolcita Hazy IPA – 6.7% ABV – this silky, luscious hazy IPA bursts with candied orange, vanilla, and ripe stone fruit aromas over a soft, pillowy body and restrained bitterness. Brewed with Maine-grown Yankee Pilsener, oat malt, and Golden Triticale from our friends at Blue Ox Malthouse, this beer celebrates our feisty donkeys and the occasional chaos that unfolds when they decide the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence.

Thursday, July 2 – Throwback Thursday! $5 Pils and Hanks, Fat Alberta, Relic Giveaway

Thursday’s celebration is all about embracing the “Throwback” in Throwback Brewery. We’ll be pouring one of our original beers (Love Me For A Long Time Pilsener) and one of our favorites (Hanks) at 2011 pricing ($5!), bringing back Fat Alberta, sharing old photos and memories from the past 15 years, and even opening up the Throwback archives.

We dug deep and uncovered some true relics: old anniversary sweatshirts, retired designs, vintage tees, and other forgotten gems from years past (old bottle labels, anyone?). Rather than keep them boxed away forever, we’re giving them back to the community that made those years possible.

Throughout Throwback Thursday, Nicole and Annette will be handing out archival merch to lucky guests while supplies last. Sizes may be random. Nostalgia guaranteed. You just have to find us! Hint: listen for Nicole’s laugh and you’ll probably track her down quickly… but Annette (our resident ninja) may be a bit harder to spot 😉.

Friday, July 3 – Let’s Get Spicy

For the past 15 years, one of our favorite traditions has been Spicy Day, so it only felt right to give it a starring role during birthday week.

To celebrate, we’ll be tapping a special spicy cask beer created just for the occasion. Expect bold flavor, heat from a variety of peppers, and the kind of beer that keeps spice lovers coming back year after year. 

To sweeten the deal (while we turn up the heat), order a cask and get $2 off one of our brand-new Spicy Bohemian 10 oz glasses.

Fifteen years later, we’re still making questionable decisions with peppers… and we have no plans to stop! 🙂 

 

Saturday, July 4– Birthday Weekend BBQ!

Special “Beach” Hours of 11am to 4pm and Kick Off Hang at 11am

We’re celebrating the Fourth with special “beach” hours from 11am–4pm (i.e., we want to celebrate with you all and then hit the beach!)

We’ll be kicking things off right at 11am with a laid-back hang in the Adirondack chairs. Join Annette and Nicole at 11am in the Adirondack chairs as they drink beer (lots of beer) and reminisce about the good ole days! 

We’ll be leaning into full summer celebration mode with watermelon margaritas, a special boozy slushy, and a favorite BBQ plate made for a perfect holiday spread.

Come hang, raise a glass, and spend part of your Fourth with us on the farm.

Sunday, July 5 – Yoga

Keep the good vibes rolling into Sunday with a relaxed close to birthday week. At 11am, join us for yoga at the brewery. It’s a chance to stretch, reset, and take in the farm before heading into the rest of your Sunday.

A slow morning, good food, and a little movement to wrap up the celebration just right.
