The Widowmaker

Two years ago, back in the fall of 2023, we tucked away a 9.6% barleywine called Attitude Adjustment into a freshly emptied Widow Jane Bourbon barrel, eager to see what magic time and oak might work on it. We already loved the base beer – big, smooth, and warming – with notes of caramel, resiny pine, brown bread, and toffee. Luckily for us, we love even more what emerged from the barrel!

Introducing The Widowmaker — a decadent, bourbon-barrel-aged barleywine that’s silky-smooth and absolutely packed with layers of flavor. Think toffee, dark caramel, dates, raisins, figs, and fruitcake, all wrapped in a gentle vanilla warmth from the barrel. Each sip offers a lovely bourbon-kissed aroma that pulls you right in — the kind of beer that makes you want to curl up by a crackling fire with a good book and your favorite pup by your side.

We’ll be releasing The Widowmaker on Saturday, October 18th — on draft and in bottles to go. This one’s a true showstopper for lovers of big, boozy beers, and we can’t wait for you to experience it!
