This Saturday (January 25th), we are dropping two BRAND NEW Belgian-style beers! First up is a beer we love so much we are already considering making it year round 😊. Introducing Wallis Sands White – a 5.6% ABV Belgian-Style White Ale (a.k.a witbier) that transports us to warmer weather with each crisp and refreshing sip. Bright, cloudy yellow in color with aromas of citrus zest, spicy coriander, and ripe banana, Wallis Sands White features flavors of orange, coriander, lemon zest, wheat, and banana, with hints of clove and light pepper notes due to the Belgian-style yeast.

The use of wheat in this beer results in a super smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel, as well as a thick white head with the associated beautiful lacing on the glass as you drink the beer down. With its high level of carbonation and dry finish, combined with the multiple levels of fruity and spicy flavors, this beer is ridiculously refreshing! We are already looking forward to crushing plenty of these beers throughout the summer. Although savoring one now in the bitter cold makes us feel just a bit happier and hopeful for the sunny, warmer days to come.

If you couldn’t tell, we are quite excited about this brew! In fact, when we first tasted this beer, we thought it was spot on, but rather than rely on our inherently biased feedback, we decided to do a blind tasting of 9 different Belgian-Style Whites to test if Wallis Sands White could really stand up to some of the giants in the field.

On the blind tasting day, Sean from NHD came over, bringing eight different Belgian White brews. Alissa poured out the samples for us – very secretly! Not knowing which beer was what, we slowly eliminated beers until two were left that we thought fit the style perfectly AND were very enjoyable and easy to drink. We ended up picking Hoegaarden as the winner (which is really the global gold standard for wits and an absolutely amazing brew), and then Wallis Sands White came in second. Not too shabby, especially given the level of competition. We can’t wait for you guys to try it and tell us what you think!

Wallis Sands White will be released on Saturday, January 25th, and we plan to have the beer on draft, cask, and cans will also be available to go. Hope to see you here at the farm!

White tasting! Yes, sometimes work ain’t so bad! p.s. Annette is very focused here!
