Baked With Love

Imagine a snickerdoodle cookie in the form of a beer, and you have our brand new Baked With Love cream ale! Brewed with a touch of cinnamon and vanilla, plus a carefully selected blend of malts to achieve notes of golden brown, buttery cookie crust, this light bodied, caramel-colored ale is a super easy drinking, festive treat. Given the large number of big and heavy dark beers brewed for the holiday season, we decided to focus on crafting a lighter bodied ale that would pair nicely with holiday activities (like tree trimming, gift wrapping, game playing) and holiday foods (like baked ham, roasted turkey with stuffing, sweet potato pie, and warm buttered rolls).

We absolutely love the way this beer came out! So much so that we’ve already decided to make it one of our recurring seasonal brews. One of the things we like best about this beer is that even though it tastes like freshly baked brown sugar cookies lightly dusted with a bit of warming cinnamon and soft vanilla, it pairs very well with proteins like baked ham and turkey, in addition to classic holiday desserts. I, personally, can’t wait to enjoy a pint while wrapping gifts to Bing Crosby’s Christmas album, or while beating friends and family at Rummikub. 🙂

And, since it is the holiday season and we are very much missing our loved ones that are far away or no longer with us, we’ve decided to make this beer a part of our Can of Kindness charitable beer series. What that means is that half of the profits from the can sales will go towards Alzheimer’s research. Here are a few additional tasting notes:

– Appearance – beautiful light copper color

– Aroma – hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and cookie crust, with notes of toasty biscuits and mild caramel

– Flavor – golden brown, buttery cookie crust with a lingering subtle cinnamon warmth and soft vanilla undertones. Cinnamon beers can be tricky and sometimes overdone, but the cinnamon and vanilla in this beer are very balanced and blend quite well with the underlying malt profile, making this one very easy drinking brew.

– Mouthfeel – soft, light body makes this ale absolutely crushable!
