dad-and-annette-tasting-room

Five years ago – Dad Carrier and Annette getting our original tasting room ready!

NOTE — We will be having a special menu on July 3rd – see below. Our regular menu will be back this coming Wednesday.

First, a Word of Thanks!
On July 3rd, 2011, Sara Zoë (founder of Seacoast Eat Local) bought two kegs from us for her Fourth of July party. It was our first sale as a brewery. At the time, it was just Annette working at the brewery full time, and we thought she would make a little beer, sell a little beer, *maybe* meet a few new people. We had no idea where this journey would take us — that we would end up on this beautiful farm, with a restaurant and a team that we are so incredibly proud of, and with so many fun and amazing new friendships within our community. It’s been a tremendous amount of work, requiring lots of heart, a good sense of humor, and, of course, some rather big leaps of faith. For example, when we moved here to Hobbs Farm a year ago July 3rd, we thought to ourselves ‘we will build it, but will they come?’. Thankfully, you did. More than we ever expected or anticipated. And, for that, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for being such great customers and for enriching our lives with your smiling faces and your stories.

Party Details
To celebrate five years of being in business and one full year at the farm, we thought we would throw a little party! On Sunday, July 3rd we will be open from 12 to 5pm – and we are having a pig roast!

Here is what Chef Carrie and team will be cooking up:
– Pulled pork (Chef will be smoking a whole Kelly Brook Farm pig)
– Smoked organic chicken
– Fish tacos
– Collard Greens
– House-made corn bread
– Baked Beans
– Baked Sweet Potatoes
– Corn on the Cob
– Kohl Slaw (our kohlrabi slaw)
– Watermelon

Tickets are $36, for all you can eat of the above, plus one ticket for a pint of beer of your choice (or 12 oz of a higher alcohol beer). The above menu will be available from 12 to 4:45, so come on by anytime during this time.
Kids 12 and under are $10.

Note, there will be a limited amount of tickets for food, so if you want to come over on the 3rd and eat, please make sure to buy a ticket! Tickets can be purchased here at Throwback Brewery during our open hours, or in our online store here -> https://squareup.com/store/throwback/item/pig-roast-throwback-fifth-birthday-party.

New Beers Being Released on Our Birthday
In addition to the tasty food being served on July 3rd, we will also be releasing two of our most popular Summer beers:
Bueno Grassias – Blonde Ale with Berries & Lemongrass (4.9% ABV, 18 IBU) – This beautiful pinkish blonde ale is made with NH blueberries, raspberries, and lemongrass. The perfect balance of tart & sweet!
Watta Melon – Blonde Ale with Watermelon (4.9% ABV, 18 IBU) – This super refreshing blonde ale is made with copious amounts of watermelon from Wake Robin Farm in Stratham, NH.
Cheers!

p.s. I had to add this photo on to the end of the post, since, to me, it personifies what we have been aiming to create here – a laid back environment with a community feel, that attracts good people wanting to relax and enjoy time with their family and friends. It is hard to see, but the little girl here is covered from head to toe in dirt. She was running around during the Solstice Party here this past Monday, June 20th just having a total blast. Seeing her enjoy herself so much made me very happy — and, it made me think, ‘wow, maybe we have created that laid back, community space that we always dreamed of building?!’.
