Our next cribbage tournament of 2023 will be held on Wednesday, September 6th at 6pm sharp. For the August tournament, instead of doing a single elimination bracket, we determined who made it to the final four by points. Win a game, get two points. Get a skunk, get three points. Lose a game, you get 0 points. After two rounds, the top four teams advance. In case of a tie, we will keep track of the number of points you won or lost your games by. It worked out well, so we plan to do that again for the September tournament.
Teams of two are welcome to sign up for a chance at victory. If you don’t have a partner, we will do our best to find you one! On game day, we’ll play until we have a winning team who will not only win glory and renown here at Throwback, but, we will also buy you a round of Throwback beers. (Or, a soda if you are under 21!)
A few other notes:
- BOYB (bring your own board and cards) if possible.
- We set up the tournaments in our new space (called Jericho’s Landing)
- People of all levels will be playing. If you end up playing some novices, it would be much appreciated if you could help them with the rules a bit. When you end up playing an expert, game on!
- There is no cost to play. We just ask that you tell us you are playing by 4pm the day of the tournament.
