In celebration of Earth Day, join co-founder Nicole and her fellow panelists in an online discussion of Building a More Resilient Outdoor & Tourism Economy in NH on Thursday, April 22nd at 4pm, as part of NH Energy Week.

Here are the details for the event:

Travel & Tourism is the state’s second biggest industry, and the outdoor recreation slice of that pie supports some 79,000 jobs and generates around $8.7 billion in consumer spending. But for all its contributions to the state, outdoor recreation and tourism is susceptible to the whims of Mother Nature as well as the long-term effects of a changing climate. Our group of panelists represent some of the diverse recreational opportunities that the state has to offer, and they will share with us what measures they’ve adopted to adapt to the changing climate – particularly as it pertains to their use of energy. We’ll talk to them about what energy or environmental challenges their businesses face, as well as ask them about what else would help them keep their businesses healthy, be it in the form of policy, legislation, changes to consumer behaviors, etc.

Moderator: Commissioner Sarah Stewart of the Department of Natural & Cultural Resources

Panelists:

  • Marty Parichand of Mill City Park at Franklin Falls
  • Nicole Carrier of Throwback Brewery
  • Jessyca Keeler of Ski New Hampshire
  • Shannon Rodgers of the UNH Cooperative Extension
