Come on by Throwback on or after November 8th, to try our brand new ESB! Grab a pint and a curry pita, and Bob's Your Uncle, you'll feel like you are transported to a U.K. pub!
Bob’s Your Uncle is our brand new, light copper-colored ESB! Featuring a bright white head, with flavors of honey-buttered whole wheat bread and hints of toffee, balanced by slightly woody, earthy hops, this is one very easy drinking brew, perfect for Fall weather.
ESB stands for “extra special bitter”, but don’t let the name fool you. ESBs are known for a balance and interplay between malt and hop bitterness, with the hops adding an earthy, herbal character to the beer that will lovingly linger on your palate long after you’ve taken a sip. Given the UK-origins of this style of beer, we think it pairs best with Roasted chicken, Fish & Chips, Bread Pudding, our Chicken Curry Pita, and English-Style cheeses.
And, if you are wondering about the name, “Bob’s your uncle” is an informal British expression that means something is easy to do or use, or that everything is taken care of. The meaning is similar to that of the French expression “et voilà!” and the American saying “Easy Peasy”. Given this is a British-style beer that is very easy to drink, we thought the name quite fitting!
Bob’s Your Uncle will be released on Friday, November 8th – which is also our British Pub Day event! Not only will we have Bob’s Your Uncle on draft and in cans, but it will also be available via cask as well. And, at some future point, we are going to roll out a nitro version as well.
