One of our News Year’s Resolutions was to spend more time with friends and family. But, with crazy schedules, this can sometimes be easier said then done. We had to do some brainstorming on how to accomplish this goal.
So we thought.
And thought some more.
Then, we realized that we’ve always loved watching the friendly competition and laughs when folks grab one of the games off our game shelf. So, we figured we’d perhaps organize this a bit more. And voila! Cribbage Night was born.
For those of you who haven’t been able to come to a Cribbage Night, here’s how it works: every other week we invite folks to gather in the pub for a fun night of cribbage. We have some boards here, but many people bring their own- especially if they have a lucky board! So far, Cribbage Night has been super casual – typically lots of people playing at different tables. Nothing too serious or too organized– just a way for folks of all cribbage skill levels to unwind at the end of the day, hang out with friends, meet new ones, drink some good beer, and maybe have a bite to eat.
All ability levels are welcome to come down and play with us. If you’ve never played cribbage before, don’t worry about it, now is a great time to learn a new skill and a really fun game. If you happen to be a seasoned cribbage veteran, come show us your moves – we’re always looking for tips.
Based upon a few suggestions of our customers, we decided to complement the super casual cribbage night with a monthly cribbage tournament. March 16 will be the date of the fist tournament. We’ll kick off the games at 6:15, which means you will need to show up by 6pm to get signed up. We’ll create the brackets and go from there! To start off with, we will play doubles. Bring a partner, or, we will sign you up with one. The tournament will be set up in sets of single-elimination rounds- if you or your partner lose, grab a beer and cheer on friends! These events will be a little bit more competitive than our regular cribbage nights, and it will end with one team standing victorious.
If the thought of infamy and glory isn’t enough to get you practicing, we will also buy the winning team a round of Throwback beer (if you are over 21, of course)!
Worried you night not have what it takes for the tournament? Fear not! Our regular Cribbage Night on March 2nd is the perfect place to practice with novices and pros alike. Check out our events calendar for the full cribbage schedule.
So get your game face on – Cribbage Night is just around the corner.
