Meet Jerry The IPA
Jerry The IPA is our copper-colored SMASH (single malt, single hop) IPA crafted with Valley Malt’s 2-Row pilsener (grown in New York) and Strata hops, known for their passionfruit, strawberry, grapefruit, and rock concert cannabis flavors and aromas. The resulting brew is something we are very much digging- with aromas of grapefruit, orange, pine, indica, and a hint of strawberry. Flavors include grapefruit, orange marmalade, pine, and a handful of skittles, with a malt background of cake batter and grape nuts. Jerry, The IPA features a moderately bitter, drying finish with lingering citrus and cannabis on the palate.
For the hop nerds out there (we see you!), you might be interested to know that we used both Strata T90 pellets as well as CGX pellets when crafting this beer. While the T90 pellets are traditionally used in brewing, the CGX are a concentrated cryogenic lupulin pellet option, with roughly twice the concentration of hop resins compared to T90 pellets. We think the pairing of both kinds of Strata hops results in a beer with a full spectrum of flavor!
And, if you are wondering about the name, it’s a nod to one of Brewer Adam’s favorite shows (What We Do In The Shadows), which features a character called Jerry the Vampire. Co-owner Nicole loves the name as she sees it as a nod to the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia, who we think would have been a huge fan of this beer given its ‘dank’ aroma and flavors! 🤣
