Spicy Day – our annual celebration of all things spicy: food, beer, and drinks—is happening on Saturday, May 3rd, and we’re fired up about the lineup of brand-new spicy brews we’re rolling out!
One of our standouts? Picante Party Pants — a zesty, citrus-charged sour brewed with grapefruit, lime, Cara Cara orange, and Lemon Habanero peppers grown right here at Hobbs Farm.
More tart than puckeringly sour, this beer opens with a bright lemon-orange aroma and subtle hints of grapefruit. It drinks like a tart and spicy margarita, finishing with a fun, tingly warmth on the lips. The grapefruit shows up early, but it’s the citrusy orange and lemony heat from the chilis that carry through—layered over a smooth, biscuity malt backbone. On the ‘hot scale’ from 1 to 10, we rate it around a 4. When you take your first sip, you’ll wait about 3-5 seconds for the heat to kick in, and then it appears as a fun tingling of warmth on your lips and tongues. The net is a super drinkable beer that we want to pair with all kinds of food – especially Mexican Street Corn, Shrimp Tacos, Queso Dip, and Quesadillas!
