It’s almost that time of year again! Something we (and many of you) look forward to all year long- the release of Spicy Bohemian (our jalapeño pilsener) for the Summer season!
On Sunday, May 8th from 12 to 7 pm, we’ll be throwing a party to celebrate the release of this tongue-tingling beer. Plus, we will have live music, a variety of spicy specials prepared by Chef Carrie, and even a tie dying station!
Tie-Dye for Seacoast Eat Local
Since we’ve opened our doors here, Seacoast Eat Local has been very supportive of our business, helping us to connect with farmers and to sell our beer at Farmers’ markets. For those of you not aware of this great organization, Seacoast Eat Local connects people with sources of locally grown foods and advocates eating locally for the health of our environment, community, culture and economy. To support this amazing organization, we will have a tie-dye station running from 12-4pm, where you can tie-dye ‘I’m A Little Spicy’ shirts for $20. We’ll have adult and children sizes, so everyone can join in on the fun! All proceeds will go to support Seacoast Eat Local. We’re happy to be able to give back to Seacoast Eat Local, an organization that has done so much for us, and the local food scene and has brought farmers’ markets to towns all over the Seacoast.
Limited Edition Beers
Our gorgeous restored 1963 Divco milk truck will be parked right alongside our beer garden, and we will be pouring from it pints of Spicy Bohemian along with some limited edition pepper beers:
-Thai-Spiced Farmhouse Ale
-Chipotle Dippity Do
Inside of our pub, you can get all of these beers, plus a special cask of our Double Dippity (Smoked Double Brown) with Ancho and Cayenne peppers!
Special Spicy Day Food Specials!
In addition, Chef Carrie will be preparing some delicious specials to spice up the day. What better food to compliment some spicy beer than tacos? Of course we will be making our maple-braised carnitas tacos that we have on our regular menu, but Spicy Day will also feature:
– Spicy Bohemian beer-battered fried fish tacos
– Smoked fish tacos
– Flank steak tacos with pickled jalapeño relish (The jalapeños in the relish will come right out of the fermenter used to make Spicy Bohemian!)
Think we’d stop at just tacos? Think Again!
Chef Carrie will also be preparing:
– Spicy, cheesy hush puppies with poblano got cheese dipping sauce
– Grilled chili marinated pineapple skewers
– Kimchachos – Nachos w/kimchi (Seacoast Eat Local founder Sara Zoe’s delicious invention!)
– Chili & chocolate beer-battered fried brownie bites (yes, these are as good as they sound!)
We’ll also have live music throughout the day by our guitar teacher here at Throwback, Chris O’Neil. He’ll be bringing his guitar out into the beer garden to set the mood and get your feet moving. Chris is an amazing guitar player and is a member of local band, Amorphous.
Hope to see you all here on Sunday, May 8th! Bring your moms as it is Mother’s Day!
