Throwback Brewery

Come to the dark side – of beers that is – and celebrate Black Friday with us! We are bordering on giddy about all the special beers we are rolling out for the day, including four we’ve deemed exceptional enough to be included into our Rare Breed series. We open a bit later on Black Friday (2pm), so you can work up an appetite and follow your fellow Jedis to a celebration of all things dark, roasty, and good! Here are the special beers we plan to have on tap:

Boysenberry Dark Cuvee – Cuvée of a rum barrel-aged Imperial Porter with a Four Roses Bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout that’s been finished with boysenberries. This jet black beer features a soft and creamy mouthfeel with flavors and aromas of dark chocolate, black coffee, bramble berry, oak, tobacco, and red wine. 9.8% ABV

– 2018 Port Barrel-Aged 5 Minute Fugitive – Russian Imperial Stout aged in a port barrel for 10+ months and then in the cellars for a year, this beer is outrageously smooth with a jammy nose and flavors of dark chocolate, roast, fig, and dark berries, with an oaky and slightly boozy finish. 10.9% ABV

– 2019 5 Minute Fugitive – We brewed the second batch of this Russian Imperial Stout earlier this year, and it’s now ready to be enjoyed! 9.2% ABV

– Der Sandmann – Cognac barrel-aged and cold-aged dopplebock boasting huge flavors and aromas of fig, raisin, caramelized brown sugar, and plum – all underscored by a balanced alcohol warmth. 9.8% ABV

– Zwart Bos – Dark lager – aged in a Four Roses Bourbon barrel – is a creamy, medium-bodied sipper with funky Brett & roasty dark fruit aromas and flavors of chocolate, oak, roast, & mild Brett funk. It finishes dry with some alcohol warmth and a big dark cherry / plum wine tang. 8.7% ABV

PLUS we should have additional dark beers on tap, like our brand new Amy’s Treat: Chocolate Cherry Stout – a smooth & roasty stout featuring Enna Chocolate cocoa husks & tart cherries, resulting in flavors of dark chocolate with a lingering fruity tartness. 4.6% ABV
