These cooler temps are just the excuse we need to get outside and smoke a whole pig for one of our ritual Smokin’ Sundays. And now that we’re back to brunch hours, this go around reminds us of all we the amazing dishes we love about brunch in the South. We’re thrilled to host a Southern Style Smokin’ Sunday Brunch on November 17th. The menu’s still in the works, but we can guarantee it will boast a pig roast plate as well as many southern-inspired specials sure leave you feeling all warm and toasty inside.
Welp, we have yet to get back our required label approval to release The Dark Side of The Blend for our Smokin’ Sunday: Southern Style Brunch. Ah, but don’t fear, we have decided to make up for that by putting on tap TWO very special barrel-aged beers from our cellar, including one that’s only been released in our Rare Breed bottles, but has yet to be put on tap here. That beer is called Der Sandmann (9.9% ABV) and it is a cognac barrel-aged and cold-aged dopplebock that boasts huge flavors and aromas of fig, raisin, caramelized brown sugar, and plum. It’s been aging for almost 1 year, and is pictured here!
You can also look forward to Gin & Juice 2019 (8.2% ABV) – Our Hopstruck aged in a gin barrel for over one year, resulting in a beer with layers of flavor and aroma – juniper, lemon verbena, oak, & raisin with a tart, dry, mild brett funk finish.
