We are happy to announce that Throwback Brewery Book Club is back! Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 2nd. We’ll gather at 5:45pm (so folks can get a beer / get settled), with the discussion starting by 6pm. We will be discussing a ‘memorable and tender’ novel called Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. And, yes, it features a giant Octopus. 🙂
“Remarkably Bright Creatures is a beautiful examination of how loneliness can be transformed, cracked open, with the slightest touch from another living thing.”—Kevin Wilson, author of Nothing to See Here
For fans of A Man Called Ove, a charming, witty and compulsively enjoyable exploration of friendship, reckoning, and hope that traces a widow’s unlikely connection with a giant Pacific octopus
A few things to note, if you are interested in book club.
1- Sometimes during pre-covid book club, we would get 15++ people at a meeting, and that number of people made discussion difficult. As such, if need be, we will cap the book club at 10 or 12 people. We currently have 12 RSVPs for the November 2nd meeting, so, if you know you want to go, please shoot us an email now. We will put you on the waitlist, or, if some of the 12 original RSVPers back out, we’ll have you come to the meeting!
2- We also have a Throwback Brewery Book Club email distribution list. We email everyone on the list 2x a month – once to let everyone know what the next book and book club date is, and once again (a week before the meeting) to get a headcount of who plans on attending. If that sounds like something you are interested in, email us to add you to our distribution list!
