July 4th, 2020
Hopefully it’s a good sign.
We made it to year nine!
Since 2020’s been kind of a sucker,
We are celebrating with beers that make you pucker.
First up, a sour we hope will bring luck.
It made with plums and salt, and will pair well with duck.
The base is a gose, so it’s pleasantly tart
And the 6.6% ABV could have you philosophizing like Descartes
Next up is a beer that might make you feel like a kid.
Or, it could have you yelling “Oh, Yeah” (heaven forbid).
If you loved drinking Kool-Aid – especially the red
You’ll love Pucker Punch – that’s what she said.
Now some of you have been asking about this year’s batch of Rhubarb Wit
We decided to make a Belgian Rhubarb Sour – we hope it’s a hit!
Last, but not least, since our head brewer Chris does love him some lime
We made a Moscow Mule sour, and we think it’s divine.
For those of you not into sours, we think “good, more for us!” 🙂
Seriously, though, don’t worry, we’ll have other beers that are A-Plus.
To begin, we’ll have on tap our 8.6% Long Lost Friend
And a 9.3% Russian Imperial Stout that some might find a godsend.
Plus plenty of hoppy and spicy and a few that are crisp
But it’s probably just easier if we give you the whole list:
Brand New! Plum Luck Sour – Gose with Plums – 6.6% ABV
Brand New! Pucker Punch Sour – 5% ABV
Brand New! Moscow Mule Sour – 4.7% ABV
Brand New! Belgian Rhubarb Sour – 5.2% ABV
Love Me For a Long Time Bohemian Pilsener 4.8% ABV
Spicy Bohemian – Jalapeño Pilsener 4.8% ABV
Hog Happy Hefeweizen – German Wheat Ale 4.9% ABV
Hank’s Pale Ale 4.8% ABV
For Dad American IPA 6% ABV
Downtown Coffee Brown 5.7% ABV
Maple Kissed Wheat Porter 5.8% ABV
2019 Long Lost Friend – Belgian Strong Dark Ale 8.6% ABV
2019 Port Barrel-Aged 5-Minute Fugitive 11.4% ABV
Other notes: Yes, we will be canning the four brand new sours, and we are making up mix packs containing one of each!
Go to throwbackbrewery.com to make a beer garden reservation today, if you would like to eat here. We’ll also have “first come, first serve” tables at the back just for enjoying a few beers!
Oh, and of course, our talented kitchen team is working on some small plate specials. We’ve heard rumors of Apricot Sweet & Sour Duck Confit lettuce cups. Okonomiyaki – a Japanese savory pancake with pork belly. And, a play on General Tso’s chicken, using sprouted broccoli from our farm. And maybe more!
So come on out to our beer garden, July 4th 12 to 7:30pm or July 5th 12 to 6pm!
